LEAVES' EYES Guitarist Forced To Sit Out 'Mittelalter Rock' Concert
March 4, 2013Guitarist Sander Van Der Meer of LEAVES' EYES — the German/Norwegian band formed by ex-THEATRE OF TRAGEDY singer Liv Kristine Espenaes Krull and members of ATROCITY — was forced to miss the group's March 2 headlining appearance at the Mittelalter Rock festival in Illingen, Germany. He says: "The reason for this is that I have been spending the last week in the hospital with severe back aches which left me pretty much incapacitated, to the point that the only option is to stay in bed.
"We are currently checking treatment options and there is a good chance an operation will be needed.
"I really hope I'm up and running (or at least walking) as soon as possible again to be joining both bands on stage!"
LEAVES' EYES has set "Symphonies Of The Night" as the title of its new album, due later in the year via Napalm Records.
LEAVES' EYES released a digital-only EP, "Melusine", on December 16, 2011 in Europe and December 20, 2011 in the U.S. via Napalm Records. The five-track EP effort included no less than four previously unreleased songs.
LEAVES' EYES' latest album, "Meredead", entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 32. Released on April 22, 2011 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland via Napalm Records, the effort was made available exclusively as limited-edition mediabook CD, including bonus track and bonus DVD "Live At The Metal Female Voices Fest", strictly limited-edition deluxe box set and regular jewel case.
